ME IN THE SHACK
Thanks for looking at my web site ,  hope to add more piccys to it soon, i am usually some where to be found on the hf bands mostly on cw but i do enjoy ssb as well so give me a call if you hear me it will be a pleasure to work you, once again best wishes and many thanks to everyone who visits my site 73s good luck and above all good dxing .

WELCOME TO MY WEB SITE.                     I live in a small town called doncaster which is in south yorkshire ,central england. I have been interested in ham radio since i was a child eventually got myself licensed in 1996 after many years running pirate stations with a variety of hf radios etc. I enjoy the cw mode very much but also like to operate on ssb when the rare ones are on the bands.                                        The station consists of my kenwood TS870 with matching power supply and speaker the audio comes from the mc60 mic as i cant afford any of this top dollar audio equiptment like some of the big boys out there hihi, The antenna is a 3 element quad for 10/15/17/20 meters which after a lot of tuning and playing now performs very well indeed even 17 meters seems to be working a treat so i will leave it alone cos its not broke . The power comes from my linear amp explorer 1200 which i find a very good amplifier giving me a butt kicking pile up busting addition to my signal with the pair of 3-500zg tubes, the antenna turns courtesy of the yaesu G1000SDX rotator which has given me many years of trouble free service. All this sits niclely on top of my 60 foot lattice tower which has a extra large stub mast above the rotator to give me some extra height . The TS870 is  fine radio i am very pleased with its performance with its exeptional recieve qualities and signal to noise ratio is incredible, i have tried various hf rigs including yaesu FT1000MP and ICOM 756 i thought the 756 was good but the 870 is something else.
I would like to say thanks to colin m0ctq who made the 4 way antenna relay switching box which is controled from the shack also for the TS870 which he sold to me heheheheheheh and for helping me on several occasions with the quad tuning many tnx col. That about sums up my hf station but i still would like to put another 2 elements on the quad, if i do and i will i hope it will enable me to realise my dream of working every single dxcc entity as i have around 300 .HERES HOPING FOR THE REST .

in case your wondering Yes i have worked p5/4l4fn thats my luckiest one to date hihi.
